Remodeling a half bathroom should be easy, right? It’s small, it doesn’t need a tub or shower, and in theory, it’s just a quick refresh. Well, let me tell you—when you’re dealing with limited space, finding the right vanity, assembling furniture without losing your sanity, and making sure everything actually fits can turn into a bit of an adventure.
But after a few surprises, a clearance deal that didn’t quite work out, and some interesting instruction manuals, the half bath is done—and I love how it turned out!

The Great Vanity Mishap
Like any good bargain hunter, I was thrilled when I found a bathroom vanity on clearance at Lowe’s. I mean, a gorgeous vanity at a steal? Yes, please! But—spoiler alert—clearance excitement does not equal proper measuring.
The vanity was too big for the space. Cue the frustration. So, off to Menards we went, where we found a smaller vanity with a sink and mirror for around $180. Pro tip: If you time it right, Menards runs an 11% rebate, so you can save even more.

The Corner Cabinet That Nearly Broke Us
I wanted to add extra storage, so I picked out this adorable Tall Farmhouse Corner Cabinet. It fits perfectly in the space and gives me a spot to store extra toilet paper, hand towels, and whatever else a guest might need.
The only problem? The instructions. Let’s just say they were not made for impatient people. But after some trial and error (and maybe some silent cursing), we got it together, and now I love it.

Finishing Touches: Hardware, Décor & Paint
Once the big pieces were in, it was time for the fun part—decorating!
✔️ Hardware: I swapped out the existing hardware for a sleek black bathroom hardware set to give the space a modern touch. It’s amazing how new hardware can instantly update a space!

✔️ Paint: We went with a very light blue color, which makes the space feel fresh, clean, and slightly coastal without being overpowering.
✔️ Décor: Everything came from Hobby Lobby, rummage sales or thrift shopping—aka my favorite way to find affordable, unique pieces that give the space personality.
✔️ Night Lights: Perfect for guests or midnight bathroom trips. Plus, they add a cozy touch.

Final Thoughts: Worth the Work!
Even though this remodel came with some challenges (RIP to my Lowe’s clearance vanity dreams), the final result was totally worth it. The space feels cozy, functional, and refreshed, and I’m so happy with how it turned out.
Would I do it again? Absolutely. But next time? I’m triple-checking my measurements before buying anything on clearance. 😆
